Our event on future research priorities for body image and eating disorders (EDs) occurred the other day and was really exciting. We gathered a working group of 14 academics, clinicians and third-sector professionals who discussed their own work in the field of body image and EDs and identified gaps in our knowledge.
Participants were from U of Strathclyde, Scottish Mental Health Research Network, U of Edinburgh, Queens U – Belfast, Aberystwyth U, Scottish Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Eating Disorder Steering Group, NHS Lothian, Mental Health Foundation, Beat, TYCI Women’s Collective. The group was diverse, dynamic and engaged, and offered interesting insight from various angles. We’re excited to be writing a research agenda in the coming months and also brainstorming on additional projects to work together.
